Ron Motil, a resident of Maryville, IL, graduated from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1979 and then received his law degree from St. Louis University School of Law in 1983.
Prior to college, Ron worked for a short time as a steelworker at the Granite City Steel mill (now U.S. Steel) in the Basic Oxygen Furnace and Yard Maintenance departments. As a result of this experience, he understands the worries, pressures, and need for benefits that his clients feel when they are injured on the job.
Ron specializes in representing people who have claims or causes of action for workers’ compensation, personal injury (falls, car accidents, etc.), unfair treatment, and disability. He has substantial litigation experience fighting for those who were injured on the job in work-related accidents. Many of his clients have been members of the industrial unions and construction trades, including steelworkers, laborers, pipefitters, firefighters, and police officers. A result of dedication and experience, Ron has recovered millions of dollars in settlements and verdicts for his clients.
He has represented injured people in trials before various Circuit Courts of central and southern Illinois and in the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Central Districts of Illinois, and has argued cases on appeal before the Appellate Courts in Illinois and Missouri. Ron has won benefits and compensation for many injured workers in the workers’ compensation dockets in Illinois and Missouri. Additionally, he presently serves as municipal attorney for the Village of Pontoon Beach and the Village of Maryville.
